Right to apply

State universities in their science-oriented units (scientific institutes) and in science-oriented education units (faculties), public scientific institutions, mixed scientific institutions, private higher education institutions, private scientific institutions, independent researchers and centers of excellence.

Conditions for participation

- The research team of the scientific research project should be composed of a main researcher, with a scientific or teaching-scientific title who is employed in the institution holding the project and at least one other researcher with a scientific or teaching-scientific title, registered in the databases on scientific researchers of the Ministry of Education and Science, as well as at least two young researchers, one of whom is an active postgraduate or doctoral student.

- One researcher can be the lead researcher of only one domestic and only one international scientific research project funded or co-financed by the Ministry of Education and Science, and

- other conditions, in accordance with the existing legislation.

Submission of project proposals

Project proposals from all scientific fields are submitted in two copies of prescribed forms by the Ministry of Education and Science. The forms for submitting project proposals are an integral part of this Call for Applications (www.mon.gov.mk). More detailed information can be obtained at the Ministry on tel. Evaluation criteria

Project proposals will be reviewed by independent reviewers based on the following criteria contained in the OL-1 evaluation sheet:

-       contribution to deepening and expanding the scientific knowledge,

-        originality of the goals and content of the research,

-        competence of the lead researcher and the proposed research team,

-       involvement and training of young scientific researchers staff,

-        relevance and competitiveness of the international project cooperation, especially for EU research programs,

-        relevance for  applying the results in practice,

-        fulfillment of material technical and other infrastructural conditions for project realization,

-        feasibility of results on time, and

-       reality of the financial means needed for realization of the project.

Each of the listed elements of this article is evaluated by independent reviewers on a scale of 1 to 5. The project is evaluated positively if it received an average grade of at least 3.5. The holder of the scientific research project will be informed about the results of the competition after the meeting of the joint Macedonian-Austrian commission.

Project proposals are submitted simultaneously in both countries on the joint English language form. In addition, the Macedonian side submits the proposal to the Ministry of Education and Science on forms

Proposals submitted in one country only will not be considered.

Plese note: Only new project partnerships can be funded under this programme.

Final report

The final report must be submitted within three months from the project completion date.
